Secret Santa has long been a festive tradition, yet the real surprise is how often Brits feel underwhelmed by their gifts.

New research from Pets at Home reveals that chocolates and sweets (50%), mugs (31%) and candles (30%) top the list of the most common Secret Santa presents. However, 1 in 3 (35%) pet owners admit to often feeling disappointed by what they receive, with rabbit owners feeling the most disappointed (43%).

While three in five (57%) of UK pet owners struggle to find inspiration for the perfect Secret Santa gift, those from Edinburgh (69%), Cardiff (68%), and Plymouth (68%) find the task the most taxing. In fact, nearly half of pet owners (46%) would prefer to unwrap something for their furry friend than for themselves.
