Isle of Man Pets at Home Celebrates Launch of Brand-New Vet Practice and Refurbishment of Current Store

After months of anticipation, Pets at Home will be opening its freshly refurbished Isle of Man store, but most importantly, it will be opening its doors to its brand-new, locally owned and operated, veterinary practice on Friday 27th September.

Open six days a week, the brand-new vet practice, which is located on the newly built mezzanine, will offer a comprehensive one-stop destination for all your pet care needs.

To celebrate the new vet practice and refurbished store, the Vet Practice Owner, Dr Kate Gledhill, Store Manager, Leila Holker, as well as local MHK Jason Moorehouse, will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony and launch event at 8.45am on Friday 27th September, with the celebrations continuing until Saturday 28th September.

The celebration will feature an array of fun free activities, including free pet portraits by local photographer Sue Blythe, as well as family games and refreshments. Shoppers will be able to go on guided tours of the brand-new vet practice and register their furry friends ahead of the official full service commencing on 30th.

Dog walkers can also join in on the fun and take part in the golden bone challenge, giving them a chance to find hidden golden bones for a chance to get money off their next shop. These will be hidden from the 27th October at the local dog walking area called Millennium Oak, Braddan.

The new vet practice, which will offer routine and emergency care, features a double operating theatre, X-ray technology (DR), a dental suite with dental radiography, ultrasound technology, as well as separate cat, dog and rabbit wards. The practice also has an acupuncture clinic and will offer all the standard services of a high-quality GP, small animal veterinary practice.
The practice will be run by a team of three highly skilled vets, four veterinary nurses and experienced client care advisors offering a range of veterinary services including flea and worm subscriptions, free weight checks and pet food consultations.

The vet practice aims to eventually become a training centre for aspiring young members of the local community hoping to have careers within veterinary – which is a prime example of Vets for Pets practices giving back to the community and providing local opportunities.

Pets at Home together with Kate have invested over £1 Million in refurbishing the Isle of Man store, and launching the brand new vet practice, to offer Isle of Man pet owners choice, the very best care, services and experiences for their pets.
