Board of Directors

Ian joined the Pets at Home board in 2020. He was previously Chair of Studio Retail Group plc from 2017 and was also a Non-Executive Senior Independent Director of intu properties plc, where he was a member of various Board committees. Ian has extensive Board experience, where past positions include CEO of Thistle Hotels, Chair of the privately owned veterinary group Vet Partners, and a long tenure on the Board at Rank Group plc as Non-Executive Chair, Executive Chair and Chief Executive Officer.

Lyssa was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Pets at Home in June 2022.

Lyssa is a highly experienced leader, most recently as Sky UK’s Chief Consumer Officer where she had end-to-end responsibility for Sky’s Consumer businesses serving more than 10 million customers and achieving over $10bn of revenue. Lyssa was also a non-executive director of Morrisons until its sale to CD&R and has previously held roles at McKinsey and Telewest.

Mike joined Pets at Home in September 2016 as Chief Financial Officer.

Mike was the Chief Financial Officer of New Look from 2014 until 2016. Prior to this, Mike held a number of finance roles at Tesco plc over a period of thirteen years, with his final position as Group Planning, Treasury and Tax Director. Before this he held finance roles with Kingfisher plc and Whitbread plc. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen. Mike is also a non-executive director at Wickes Group Plc.

Zarin was appointed to the Board of Pets at Home in 2021 and has wide ranging financial and commercial expertise. Zarin is also a Chartered Accountant.

Zarin is currently appointed as Senior Independent  Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of Anglian Water Services Limited, Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of HM Treasury and Independent Non-Executive Director, Audit and Risk Committee Chair and ESG Chair at Hays Plc. In addition, Zarin is a trustee of National Trust and Chair of its Audit Committee.

Previously, Zarin was an independent member of the Audit and Risk Committee of John Lewis Partnership plc, Chief Financial Officer of the BBC, Chief Operating Officer of The Grass Roots Group plc and non-executive director of Post Office Limited and member of its Audit and Risk Committee.

Roger is an experienced retailer who spent ten years as an executive director of Sainsbury's before joining Asda as its Chief Operating Officer in 2016, becoming its CEO in 2017. He left Asda in August 2021 after four years as CEO and was appointed CBE in the 2022 New Year Honours list for services to the food supply chain. In 2022, Roger took on the position of non-executive chair of Finnebrogue Artisan, an Irish food manufacturer. Roger is also chair of Plate-up Limited and is a luminary advisor with Accenture.

Natalie-Jane is a medical graduate of Glasgow University and spent eight years in the NHS as a hospital physician and clinical lecturer before moving into management roles. She spent 17 years at Bupa holding various positions including Managing Director of Bupa Health and Wellbeing. She was CEO of children’s services business Acorn Care and Education from 2013-2017 and of Sunrise Senior Living UK from 2017-2021.

Natalie-Jane has chaired Nuffield Health since May 2020 and Voyage Care since June 2022. She is also a NED of Riverstone Living, a retirement living business. Previously she has held NED roles at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, PHIN, a health information services organisation and also Which? She was awarded an MBE for services to healthcare during the pandemic, an MBA from London Business School and a diploma in company direction.

Angelique served as the Chief Analytics Officer at Capital One Financial Corporation, where she led a team to execute Capital One's first artificial intelligence and machine learning strategy and innovation agenda for the card business. Prior to this, Angelique held positions as the Chief Data & Analytics Officer for Apax Partners and as a Managing Director in JP Morgan's Global Payment Business, where she built and scaled a data-driven innovation unit.

Angelique is also a member of Pets’ Nomination and Corporate Governance Committee, as well as the ESG Committee.

Garret joined the Pets at Home board in July 2024.

Garret is a qualified veterinarian who co-founded and built Pet Doctors, after which he transitioned into private equity at Bridges Ventures where his focus was on health and education investments. Garret then joined August Equity as a Partner, where his role focused on the healthcare, social care and education sectors through strategic investments. Garret has significant board experience and currently chairs a privately owned social care business Koala Care, is a Non- Executive Director at Dunrogan on a family office board in his native Northern Ireland and chairs Blackrose, a boutique corporate advisory house.

Garret is also a member of Pets’ Nomination and Corporate Governance Committee and chairs the ESG Committee.
